Two roads diverged in a wood
And I took the one less traveled by
And that has made all the difference.
- Robert Frost
Taking "the road less traveled" is a choice: even
if it means "Walking on Ice." Why are mountains
there? To be climbed, of course, and the path is sometimes
slippery. There is also, obviously, "the road most
traveled" which may be the right way for many or under
certain conditions for any of us. But experience has taught
me that there is often a better and more promising choice.
When I sit back long enough to let data become intelligence,
facts to be revealed as either truths or falsehoods, the
right path then becomes clearer. In business and in personal
life, this approach has helped open new vistas and
satisfying opportunities. It has led to a meaningful and
exciting life, providing success and support for all
concerned. To read about my Russian experience, see my
latest book: "Walking on Ice, An American Businessman
in Russia."
Education and business over forty plus years has taken me
to many countries in Asia and all over Europe, and most
recently Russia where I have been active since 1991 when
I first entered the chaos of the decaying Soviet Union. I
started a telecom company and lived there for six years. I
am still involved daily in Russian business, this time with
my second telecom venture in the burgeoning New Russia where
our companies have been recognized as leading pioneers.
This travel and foreign residence has created a broad
interest in other cultures and cultural conflict resolution,
leading to writing, both historical fiction and non-fiction.
In progress are two novels set part or wholly in Russia, and
even one based on a family memoir set in the Mexican
Revolution. Articles and essays have appeared in various
business and general interest magazines and journals. In
addition to writing I have received awards for photography.
I love the arts, music, and literature.
For me, taking the road less traveled by "has made all
the difference."
