About Frederick R. Andresen

Two roads diverged in a wood
And I took the one less traveled by
And that has made all the difference.
- Robert Frost

Taking the “road less traveled” has been a stand-out theme in the life and career of Frederick R. Andresen. Born and raised on the West Texas desert near El Paso, Andresen has spent a great deal of his professional life working and living abroad. Although his time in the military and his earlier career took him all over Europe and Asia, the nearly twenty years he has invested in building telecom companies in Russia have most inspired him as a writer and as a man.

A collection of autobiographical essays written during his stint living in Moscow in the 1990s, Walking on Ice: An American Businessman in Russia, has raised Andresen’s profile as a writer and speaker versed in doing business abroad– especially in Russia. He continues his Russian business involvement and consults with others.  He has addressed business and civic groups on the topic, and brings his expertise to his role as the President of the Los Angeles-St. Petersburg Sister City Committee.

Andresen’s latest book is  ”Dos Gringos,” a work of historical fiction inspired by his own father’s adventures during the Mexican Revolution.
